CURRENTLY OUT OF PRINT

This pocket guide to modern signalling practice has been popular since it was first published in 1992, selling both to enthusiasts and professionals within the industry. The fourth edition was published in 2010 and has been out of print since 2013.

Since the publication of the last edition of this popular illustrated pocket guide, there have been significant changes to the railway signalling infrastructure in use in Britain which is reflected in the new edition.

The book contains new material on the planned changes in traffic management, the development of signalling control centres dependent on modular signalling, the new signalling for Thameslink, and new forms of level crossing protection with obstacle detection, as well as more detail on ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System), all part of a process to eventually replace the traditional signalling on Britain's railway network.
