MEMORIES OF SOUTHERN RAILWAYS is the second volume of reminiscences by Mike Jacobs.
His first book on the Isle of Wight has received numerous plaudits - and rightly so - it is a nostalgia album written in a way that makes it difficult to put down.
In this second volume the story takes the reader to the Southern on the mainland immediately post-war, continuing through to the 1960s. Most of the former SR is covered, although predominately Hampshire westwards.
If you like recall (or wish you had) the period up to 1967 this is one you will not be disappointed with.
A readable text combines with b/w images from the period, nearly all of which are unpublished.
