Western Memories' is the third book in the trilogy by Mike Jacobs describing his experiences of watching and travelling on the railway in the 1950s and 1960s, a time when transition was taking place. This is in NO way a train-spotters record of observations, indeed there are very few loco numbers referred to in the text. Instead it a record of personal observation of what was going on: the stations, the people and naturally the trains. Read and enjoy, you will not be disappointed. (Mike's earlier book on 'Memories of Isle of Wight Railways' is reprinting at the same time and will also be available at the end of April. His 'Memories of Southern Railways' is available from stock).
