An indispensable reference book, an interesting read, a touring guide and much more, Wrecks & Relics has grown into a true ‘must have’ for historic aviation enthusiasts and for professionals working in the sector. It’s published in a comprehensively updated form every two years and is written and compiled by Flypast’s Contributing Editor and long-term previous editor and staff member, Ken Ellis.

The book is a guide to preserved, instructional and ‘out of use’ aircraft across the UK, and provides a potted history of each airframe, its status and notes about its location. It also covers warbirds – static and airworthy – that can be seen in Britain. Each location is listed by county/province and then alphabetically, meaning that it’s very easy to use as a touring guide, or as a pointer to what’s in your local area. The 23rd Edition, which was published in mid-June, continues the very high standard set by previous Wrecks & Relics. Highly recommended.
